25 Ways To Celebrate National Dog Day By Helping Dogs

Sunday is National Dog Day, a day to celebrate ALL dogs, young and old, small and large, short and longhaired, mixed and pure breed. As dog lovers we all want to help dogs lead happier, healthier, and safer lives – both our dogs as well as dogs at risk or in need of assistance. But it is easy to get overwhelmed and not know where to start or how to help. Here are 25 simple ways to help dogs in your community today!

25 Ways To Celebrate National Dog Day By Helping Dogs

Great post. I kind of feel like everyday is dog day around our house, lol. I don’t think I’ll be doing anything special to celebrate this weekend, but I always make lots of time to spend with my own dogs as well as do what I can to help dogs in need.

What an excellent post! I recommend “Megan Leavey” as a terrific dog movie to watch, although it may not be appropriate for children (war, combat, adult situations & language).

These are all such great ideas to help dogs in your community & ways to celebrate Nat’l Dog Day. This morning we went to our favorite dog friendly cafe, and made some homemade frozen dog treats to celebrate. I recently signed up for Amazon Smiles and chose the animal shelter I volunteer for as the recipient of donations based on my Amazon purchases! Great way to easily give back to help animals in need!

We’ve been planning some pup field trips, including to a local winery that has two rescue brands of wine where 100% of the profits go to animal rescue. Pretty excited about that visit! We’re “projecting” around the house today for National Dog Day while we wait for the cooler weather to arrive.

    What a tremendous post!

So many feel good things for prospective dog owners to think about, and I love the mention of seniors. A senior pet is a committed and wonderful animal grateful for your love and care.

I grew up with dogs and still love them. If I had a different lifestyle and lived in a different location, I may consider getting another one. I love the herding breed of dogs and would need more property for them.
